Teamwork: The Strength That Comes From Working Together

Teamwork matters. In fact, most people would say that the ability to collaborate and work together can make the world a better place. One person’s good idea combined with six other people’s good ideas typically will make an excellent idea.

This is true whether the finished product is a sitcom script, computer program, or a country’s defense.

In the past, war has been seen through the eyes of professional news crews. Now, the war is seen through the cell phones of average people who want the world to see the atrocities that are being inflicted on their country.

Yet, amongst the horrors, are the videos that show the difference teamwork can make.

The Difference

A woman in her bathrobe pauses her life to carry hot tea to soldiers outside the house. Another woman helps her by bringing more glasses to her for distribution. Still another woman slices up bread and adds cheese and a pickle to each piece before handing it out to soldiers in the street.

Other short videos show groups of soldiers who have combined their skills to boost the morale of civilians with a song. A group of women in a theater lobby sings patriotic songs together while they create camouflage nets to protect their soldiers. Young and old civilians work in a park to create Molotov cocktails to defend their homeland.

No one is saying, “That’s not my job.” No one is worried that they might be doing more than someone else. No one is angry that someone else might get the credit.
