Hello to all who are reading my story!

Today, I want to tell you the story of how and why I became a programmer.

I have always been interested in mechanisms and especially computer equipment. I wanted to know how it works and why exactly. It was so extraordinary and exciting in my childhood when I saw a screen, and something appeared on it.

At that time, my mom was a physics teacher at a school. Later, she went on leave to give birth to my little sister.

After her maternity leave, she decided to change professions to something she found more relevant and interesting.

My mom had liked computers since university, but, at that time, computers were only starting to appear in our lives.

I can’t remember the exact time when a computer first appeared at home, but I was about eight or nine years old. It was an amazing feeling.

I was very happy, and from that time, I started studying computers.

My mother became an operator of the accounting program, 1C, from the beginning. She started supporting this program for other users by helping them learn it and solve problems. Step-by-step, my mom started fixing some modules or parts of the program, changed settings for various industries, and made the same modules.

Explaining to a computer how it should work and how it could be useful for other users was so exciting and engaging. My first small program was a long instruction on Turbo Pascal that drew the opening on the screen with a greeting on International Women’s Day.

Approximately at twelve-years-old, I discovered great abilities to solve math and logic tasks. It was so simple and clear for me. If math, logic, and a computer are mixed, the result is programming, which incorporates all of these.

Toward the end of school, I decided that I really wanted to become a programmer.

Ten years have passed since that time, and I can tell you that I’ve become a programmer.

I’m a front-end developer. I have a funny story about this. At university, I had a special subject. It was called WEB-technologies that was based on basic knowledge of front-end development.

I hated that subject because I had the worst teacher. She was rude, didn’t explain anything, or help us. She would tell us something like “You have a lecture and instructions for your practice tasks. You can find everything there!”

Believe me, in those documents, I couldn’t find all of the information, and a lot of what I did find was obsolete.

However, I chose the path of my unloved subject at university. As a result, I was able to realize my childhood and youth interests in adulthood.

I do what I like, and it makes me happy, and Swan helps me with it.

It’s so cool to make something from nothing. A person explains to you only the idea of how he or she imagines this. You need to think about everything and decide each detail of how a user can do everything, how information will be connected, how the user will use it, and which abilities the user will have. A lot of people never pay attention to this or want to understand it, but for me, it is the sense of my life!
