It is said that IT export in Ukraine grows around 20% to 25% every year. Although ranked at 35 in regards to population, Ukraine is fourth in the highest number of certified IT specialists. Although these cyberattacks are merely one arm of the brutal attacks Russia is waging, a new kind of soldier is needed to defend against them. Enter a volunteer IT army.
Made up of programmers who are either Ukrainian or sympathetic to the Ukrainian cause, these programmers wage war with keyboards rather than knives–laptops rather than launchers. Their fight might be different than those on the front lines but is equally important.
