Why should one do business with a country at war?

For many companies, that question is at the forefront when they consider outsourcing their IT needs to Ukraine.

Ukraine has a strong tech sector. Thousands of IT companies and tech specialists call Ukraine home. With lower prices and high quality, outsourcing to Ukrainian developers is a great choice for many American companies.

But with a war going on, is it still a good choice?

Yes, and to understand why one needs to look no further than Israel.

With an antipathy towards each other that dates back to Abraham’s sons, Israel and its Arab neighbors have long been at war. At times, such as the Six-Day War, this flares to outright fighting. Yet, Israel remains. Although small, Israel is not weak. Although forced to fight larger forces for survival, Israel continues to thrive.

And so will Ukraine.

Many may think that Ukraine cannot prevail against the might of Russia. Many might be tempted to avoid doing business with a company tied to Ukraine.

This would be a mistake. Like Israel — who is a world leader in tech, clean tech, and life sciences — Ukraine will continue to survive and thrive in spite of her enemies that try to destroy her or steal her land.

Swan Software Solutions has a skilled team of developers who live all over Europe. Many are Ukrainian. These men and women continue to work their jobs, provide for their families, and live their lives in the face of Russian attacks.

Swan has plans in place to enable our developers to stay safe and continue to produce the same high-quality and reliable software we always have. In fact, Swan is opening another office in Ukraine.

Why should one do business with a country at war?

Because, like Israel, Ukraine –and Swan — will continue to survive and thrive and create software that exceeds clients’ expectations.
